Chris Hadfield and The Barenaked Ladies, A Celestial Collaboration
Astronaut Chris Hadfield continues to shatter any preconceived notions we had and perhaps never even considered regarding the intersection between science and art. His latest endeavor: the first musical collaboration in space with The Barenaked Ladies singer Ed Roberston. "...he created a really poetic, laced-with-technical-info second verse. I was like: ‘Dude, you’re the astronaut. I’m supposed to be the songwriter,’ says Robertson. "But it was an awesome surprise.” Awesome indeed, their song titled "I.S.S (Is Somebody Singing)" was recorded live, Chris was located aboard The International Space Station while Robertson performed at CBC Music’s studio in Toronto.
